Tech & Tinker Makers at Lucchesi Park Clubhouse

Innovation is thriving at the Lucchesi Park Clubhouse! Over the past year, we’ve launched our new Design Technology Lab—a space where Club Members dive into hands-on learning, exploring 3D design, game development, and creative problem-solving.

“It was incredibly satisfying to see them all come together at LPC in Petaluma,” says Aaron Churchill, Director of Program Services STEM.

At the Design Technology Lab, club members explore different technologies and design virtual and physical solutions with target vocabulary and real-world feedback. From navigating 3D interfaces to designing custom models, Members are gaining real-world experience while building critical skills in applied math, physics, and material science—and they’re having a blast doing it.

After mastering the basics, kids chose their own path:

  • Game Design in Roblox Studio 🎮—creating 2D and 3D assets, levels, and interactive scripts

  • Cosplay Prop & Shop 🎭—using traditional maker materials to bring creative visions to life

Choosing their own path gave our members an opportunity to enjoy the different aspects of game development from level design, scripting, art and story direction, and more.

By the end, Members were playing inside the game worlds they built themselves, seeing their ideas come to life on-screen—a true blend of learning and fun!
