Once a Club Kid, Always a Club Kid: Meet Griffin Mitchell
Griffin Mitchell
Griffin is a Sonoma County native and proud former member of a Boys & Girls Club after-school program. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Chico and Master of Accounting degree from University of California, Davis. He began his career as a CPA with PwC in San Francisco, where he worked with large asset managers and private wine clients, before joining Deloitte’s M&A practice in New York City, specializing in consumer-packaged goods. Today, he serves as a Vice President at Azur Associates, a specialized advisory firm providing M&A and strategic advisory services to the wine industry.
Having benefited firsthand from Boys & Girls Clubs as a child, Griffin is passionate about supporting the organization’s mission and giving back to his community. He is honored to be involved with Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin and the meaningful impact it creates for local youth and families.
What was your favorite activity as a kid?
“Basketball. Gotta be basketball. I played a lot after school and at Club. It took up a lot of my time.”
Who was an adult who made a difference in your life?
“When I was a kid, there was a volunteer at Club who I saw slam dunk a basketball for the first time and I can still see it to this day.”
Why Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin? What compels you to advocate for kids?
"Equality. Everybody having the same opportunity as the playing field isn’t the same for everyone. Boys & Girls Clubs provides assistance for underprivileged youth.”
