Nine Years, Countless Lives: Thank You, Tom Hinde

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Tom Hinde for his extraordinary dedication and nine years of service on Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin Board of Directors.

From Club Kid to Board Member

Tom’s journey with the Club comes full circle as he was once a Club kid himself. Encouraged by friends already on board, Tom saw an opportunity to give back to the organization that helped shape his own life. His motivation was simple but powerful: 
“If you can affect youth, you can solve other problems later on.” 

Guiding Growth

Over the years, Tom brought that belief to life through his steady leadership and tireless commitment. He served on both the Finance and Safety Committees (Chairing Safety for five years), helping guide the Club through critical decisions and organizational growth. 

When asked about the most meaningful part of his service, Tom shared: 
“I don’t know if there’s any one silver bullet. Since I started, we’ve grown as an organization, and we’ve worked together to make that growth possible. As a result, we’ve been able to serve more kids.” 

He also offered thoughtful advice to others considering board service: 
“Each board member brings their own set of experiences and backgrounds that impact the organization. If you’re thinking about joining, recognize your own assets, find where those fit into the organization, and serve as many youths as you can.”
